ONF performed at the opening show of MU: CON, South Korea’s largest international music industry trade show, held almost this year and explored the challenges and opportunities facing the global music industry in the age of COVID.

Yemi Alade – I Choose You ft. Dadju

Nigerian star Yemi Alade released the official video of her collaboration with French artist of Congolese origin Dadju on Friday 20 November 2020. The video of this love song “Je te choisis” is already available on legal music platforms. Sung in English, French and Lingala, this track is a cultural exchange between the two Afro artists.

Diamond Platnumz feat. Koffi Olomide – Waah!

Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz teams up with legendary Congolese singer Koffi Olomide on a new track “Waah! The song is a perfect blend of the two cultures, watch the video above

Sauti Sol – Suzanna (Youtube Black Africa Creator Week)

Sauti Sol recently released their fifth studio album and it’s a jubilant gift for the undeniably turbulent times the world is experiencing. Midnight Train is a rich and uplifting 13-track album with standout tracks in “Suzanna”, “Nenda Lote”, “Sober” and “Brighter Days”, which featured the prolific Soweto Gospel Choir and was the first track to be released in preparation for the album launch. Nominations aux Grammy Awards 2021

The nominations for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards were announced on 24 November, with some of our favourite artists in a few categories.

Nigerian artists Burnaboy and Wizkid are nominated for the 2021 Grammy Awards. Burnaboy’s recent album ‘Twice As Tall’ got the nod. The singer was nominated for the World Music Album. This is the second year in a row that Burnaboy has received a nomination in this category. Wizkid’s feature on Beyonce’s popular song “Brown Skin Girl” earned him a Grammy nomination for best music video.

In more good news, global sensation BTS has become the first K-pop group to receive a Grammy nomination.

Their latest hit song “Dynamite” has been nominated in the Best Pop Duo / Group Performance category.

We’ll be watching next year for all three artists to take home the Grammy.

WizKid releases new album ‘Made in Lagos’ & New video ‘Ginger featuring Burna Boy out now!

WizKid has released his new album “Made in Lagos”, after an initial delay out of respect for the recent events in Nigeria.

The album was originally scheduled for release on 15 October, but the Lagos-born singer decided to delay the release as he joined a host of musicians, including Beyoncé and Burna Boy, to call for an end to police brutality and Nigeria’s Special Anti-Robbery System (SARS).

The 14-track album features contributions from Burna Boy (Music Video Above) himself, as well as Skepta, Ella Mai, H.E.R., and more. Listen to “Made in Lagos” using the link below.

Blackpink is the world’s largest pop group, a first for South Korea

Blackpink has been the most popular act on YouTube for the past two months, generating over one billion views in October alone. The band was also the second most popular act on Spotify. Although their album did not debut at number one in the US, it was still one of the country’s top 10 bestsellers for the month. All in all, Blackpink is the biggest musical act in the world, according to Bloomberg’s Pop Star Power Rankings.

Alongside the boy band BTS, Blackpink has achieved a level of global popularity unprecedented in the history of music.
