The first edition of the Zimix Festival Renens scheduled from 03 to 05 July 2020 is cancelled
Hello
The organisation of the Zimix Festival announces today with regret that the first edition of the festival, scheduled for July 3 to 5, 2020, will not take place. The concept of the programme planned for this summer will be partly postponed to the next edition, which will be held from 02 to 04 July 2021.
At its press conference on Wednesday 29 April, the Federal Council presented its partial decontamination programme and announced that the majority of the hygiene and social distancing measures necessary to protect the population from covid-19 would be maintained. Consequently, it is today utopian to envisage a return to normal authorisations for public events between now and the summer, especially in view of the current situation in our European neighbours and the announcements of cancellations of major summer festivals such as the Paleo, Montreux Jazz and Sion sous les étoiles.
The health of the population remains our priority and takes precedence over all other considerations.
As a reminder, the Zimix Festivalis an intercultural and intergenerational world music event that takes place every year in the heart of western Lausanne in Renens. It is part of the tradition of openness and diversity that embodies Switzerland. It is the continuity of the musical concerts and successful cultural dance evenings organized by MKC EVENTS for several years. It aims to be one of the flagship festivals in intercultural diversity in French-speaking Switzerland.
We are currently working on the possibility of postponing the already announced concerts of the Sauti sol Group on Friday 03 July 2020 and the Richard Bona & Alfredo Rodriguez Band on Saturday 04 July 2020. Once finalised, we will inform you via our communication channels. Stay connected on our social networks.
In this context, the entire MKC EVENTS team sends you its best regards in this general confinement and looks forward to seeing so many of you at the next edition from 02 to 04 July 2021.
Let’s strictly respect the containment rules for a quick return to normal life!
