About KAMSPF 2021

KAMSPF 2021 cancelled due to COVID-19 difficulties!

The Korean and African Music Silent Party in Festival, would have been the first intercultural and intergenerational music festival in Switzerland to integrate both live streaming and a physical “Silent Party” with real-time interaction between the audience and the artists on the main stage of the Renens concert hall.

Dear readers,

Although the Canton found our project innovative and original for the cultural scene, it was unfortunately unable to provide us with the necessary support due to the difficulties linked to COVID-19.

KAMSPF, Korean and African Music Silent Party Festival, would have been the first intercultural and intergenerational music festival in Switzerland to integrate both live streaming and a physical Silent party with real-time interaction between the audience and the artists on the main stage of the Renens concert hall.

This would have been a great first in Switzerland with a growing diversity of music such as Jazz, Afro and K-pop!

But we are looking at the positive because it’s only a matter of time! So stay tuned so you don’t miss anything!

MKC EVENTS

Festival

The world of culture and entertainment has been at a standstill for several months. With the ban on major events, cultural offerings and all cultural actors are severely impacted. As a result, companies in the cultural sector have to innovate in order to secure their future more securely. This is the objective of the Confederation and the Cantons, which encourage and accompany cultural enterprises to reorient themselves structurally and to maintain a link with their public by proposing transformation projects. Together with local cultural actors and partners, MKC has responded to this call by launching an innovative project of public utility. KAMSPF 2021 is a festival of contemporary music that integrates both live streaming and silent party with real-time interaction between the audience and the artists. A first in Switzerland!

Le Korean and African Music Silent Party in Festival, abbreviated KAMSPF, is the largest intercultural and intergenerational festival of Jazz, Afro and K-pop music live on the internet in Switzerland. This Festival is organised from the 2nd to the 4th of July in the mythical concert hall of Renens, whatever the sanitary conditions. It offers an artistic stage on whichlive music, dance, comedy and DJ artists will perform for the enjoyment of our audience.

  • In Live streaming : the main audience connected from their phones, digital tablets or computers and present on large screens in the venue will watch the concerts, backstage and interact with the artists on stage to maintain this festive and entertaining link.
  • In Silent party : the audience equipped with wireless headphones on the esplanade of the auditorium will enjoy the concert on the screens installed outside. So with sound diffusion directly on the headphones, the game will take place without noise for the neighbourhood.

The project is in keeping with Switzerland’s tradition of openness and diversity. It will build bridges between fans of K-pop, Afro and Jazz music. It is the continuation of the successful concerts organised by MKC EVENTS for several years.

KAMSPF is the place to be in the summer of 2021 to celebrate culture with the Swiss public, all local cultural actors, emerging talents and established artists in a Live streaming and Silent party format. It will also give Swiss brands the opportunity to be close to their audience.

Public cible

The Festival is aimed at Swiss and international fans of Jazz music, K-pop culture and Afro music, which is on the rise worldwide.

The spectator buys a ticket for the evening of his choice and then receives a link to connect virtually, live, via a streaming platform. The “Silent Party” on the esplanade of the auditorium will be held in strict compliance with the barrier measures with a limited number of participants.

The artists

Know-how for the benefit of all

The KAMSPF marks a new way of seeing and hearing a concert with technical changes, innovations and new ways of doing things. Live streaming requires the presence of automatic and manual cameras, screens to see the audience watching in streaming, specific lighting, adapted control rooms, digital outputs to control rooms, very high speed internet, etc. The audience behind the screens, the audience on the stage, the artists, the technicians and the organisers will all have to adapt to this digital revolution as they did to the disappearance of the physical record. The production of this Festival will provide an additional experience for all cultural actors and spectators of high quality concerts. In addition, it will offer emotions that we have missed so much in recent months.

This Festival is a pilot project for the cultural enterprise MKC and a know-how for the industry that will benefit from it.

Highlights of the KAMSPF

Its innovative character

With something in common, which is digital.

An event that embodies musical diversity

The KAMSPF promotes music genres that are less represented in Switzerland as well as other world music. An audience to be seduced with a combination of Jazz, Afro and K-pop music. With a large stage, the KAMSPF will stand out by hosting internationally renowned artists attracting a large and varied audience online.

Its link to the pandemic

The KAMSPF demonstrates the possibility of maintaining a rich cultural offer despite the temporary loss of social ties. In this way, a close link between cultural actors, artists and the public will again be possible.

An event that brings together local cultural players

The focus of the KAMSPF is on the engagement of cultural actors from the canton of Vaud and Switzerland. Because with the cultural sector economically affected by the pandemic, it is important that the Festival is an opportunity for reorientation for all.

A Covid Friendly event

The KAMSPF is organised regardless of health conditions with live streaming to the public on screens. Organised in summer, the Silent Party will allow a public to gather according to the authorisations in force and the barrier measures to be respected.

Music contributes to wellbeing

Music, humour and art stir the hearts, harmonise cultures, break through cultural barriers and encourage diversity and the spirit of living together. Even more so in the current context where culture must play a key role in our society.

Its long-term sustainability

The KAMSPF is considered a pilot project for MKC EVENTS. Its realization will make it possible to envisage in the future, projects which integrate the digital in the diffusion. Because imagining the future of cultural entertainment without digital is no longer possible. Thus, this project will contribute to meeting a market need by creating jobs within the company and offering an opportunity to cultural actors.
